It seems a huge amount compared with what DS (now 5) ate at 4! And compared to what he eats now, in fact!
Seems fine, content-wise. If a bit bourbon-biscuit-orientated

nailpolish · 26/06/2007 16:01

oh god is it really a lot?

and i knew someone would pick me up on the bourbon biscuits

DS is built like a bonsai knitting needle, and i wish he would eat that amount!

Anyway, if she's healthy and lively and looks in proportion, it's the right amount for her!

And it is true, we don't have bourbon biscuits on the menu.

We have custard creams and DS had two beore breakfast.

But in my defence I have only agreed to buy CCs since they stopped putting hydrogenated fat in them.

Blu · 26/06/2007 16:06

Are you anxious about what she eats?

Blu · 26/06/2007 16:07

And sorry - you specified AMOUNT not comments on bourbon biscuits

lilolilmanchester · 26/06/2007 16:07

It does seem like a lot to me TBH. Intrigued as to why you posted this - something must have prompted it?

nailpolish · 26/06/2007 16:09

some days i am just astounded as to the amount she eats

she is tall and has the longest legs of any 4 yr old i have seen

they must be hollow

If you're happy that she's not overweight and eating healthily, then it's not problem.

katylou25 · 26/06/2007 16:13

Um.... My 2.5yr old ds eats a similar amount so far today he has had...

Breakfast
bowl rice crispies, 3 pieces of toast, 1/2 banana

snack
apple, handful raisins, biscuit

lunch
cheese sandwich (3 slices bread) cucumber slices, ham, sweetcorn, strawbedrries, grapes

Snack at playgroup
3 biscuits
at home
orange, 2 squares choc....

And hes asking for food again!!
I don't know where he puts it all hes tiny is still in 12-18mth trousers BUT so full of energy... I guess he just needs that much food!

Hulababy · 26/06/2007 16:16

My 5yo DD eats quite a lot I think

So today she has had (or will have had):

Breakfast: smoothie, bowl of cereal, toast
Snack at breaktime: rice cakes, veg sticks
Lunch: two course school dinner
Snack at home time: ham sandwiches, apple
Dinner: roast chicken, rice, salad, bread; followed by dessert - icecream and jelly i think

And she eats decent sized portions too.

Hulababy · 26/06/2007 16:17

DD has not an ounce of fat on her and is very active, so at the moment it isn't a problem.

nailpolish · 26/06/2007 16:20

when they go to school, do you think their activity level drops? dd1 is very active but thats cos i take her out every day, and she plays and plays outside. i think she will get a shock when she goes to school and is in a classroom all day. and i worry that she will eat the same amount of food

DD's doesn't seem to have TBH. She is running about 3 times a day at school at break times, plus ballet and PE. And then playing again after school and at weekends. Plus weekly swimming lessons.

nailpolish · 26/06/2007 16:23

ok that is reassuring hula.

Hulababy · 26/06/2007 16:24

TBH I think DD possibly eats more now than before she started school. She is always starving apparantly So long as she is active and not getting overweight I am not concerned at present.
