Would you like this one as Christmas dessert?

Hi all,
An italian friend sent me this video of a very original recipe that I want to do in these days for Christmas lunch ( ) about a typical Xmas dessert of his Central Italy zone.
There should be almonds, hazelnuts, honey, cooked must, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, pine nuts, cocoa, coffee, chocolate, candied oranges and pepper.
I've exactly some doubts about pepper (even if it's not too much to put in from video), would you like to have it on dessert?
Do you think your kids will eat?

Sorry, I find most things with lots of nuts in mine won’t eat (or me ), my husband would though! And I’m saying that with children who eat almost anything. Be interested to see how many other people would like this and maybe I’m hugely wrong so let’s see what others say ...

I'd love it, but it doesn't look very sweet so I think you'd have to serve something more sweet as a second option! Pavlova/ Yule log/ sticky toffee pudding...

My idea of hell. No from me

It sounds delicious, but more the sort of thing you'd eat in the same situation as a mince pie, rather than after a big meal.

It's name actually refers to the pepper in it. www.ciaoitalia.com/seasons/14/1413/pepper-bread-or-popes-bread

Thanks a lot, Greendale and Janus... I will tell you soon the first impressions. My idea is completely like PickAChew!

My DC would probably eat that and I think it looks heavenly. Agree it's not a dessert though.

I like the sound of it, wholesome dried fruit and nuts. I would prob sub the candied peel for fresh fine grated orange zest, dark carob for chocolate. The pinenuts, almonds and hazelnuts would make this quite luxurious! Enjoy!
