Can I do rice pud in the slow cooker?

Hi Cedar. I've made rice pudding in our slow cooker (tho not for a while,your post has reminded me to do it again!). It's really creamy, but it does seem to have a light caramel colour to it, rather than white/cream.

Recipe from my slow cooker recipe leaflet: Butter the inside of the slow cooker pot. Add 2 oz pudding rice; 2 oz sugar (I use less); 1 pt milk; pinch of nutmeg. Stir. Cook 4 - 41/2 hours.
Note: my slow cooker only has one setting, you might need to translate the cooking time if yours is different. I usually boil the milk first, but it doesn't tell you to do that in the recipe.
