Cranberry takeover alternative

I can't stand cranberry sauce, I don't like fruit in my savoury food and this time of year it's everywhere. While I'm on mat leave it hasn't bothered me too much as not eating lunch on the go but with festive recipes I see online a lot include cranberry.

What is good to use instead of cranberry sauce?

I'm thinking for a festive Brie and bacon bake

Difficult if you don’t like fruit as with Brie and bacon you need something acidic to cut through the richness

Maybe cherry tomatoes?

I don't like cranberry either, I substitute with caramelised red onion

I'll try the tomato and see!

Caramelised onion is also too sweet for me, I know I'm a pest I just don't like sweet things in my dinner Cake

Redcurrant jelly?

I've never had that. It still looks like jam, is it as sweet as cranberry's?

Make your own cranberry sauce and don't put much sugar in it? I make mine with a little fresh OJ and some mulling spices (cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice) and a little brown sugar. Cranberries are really really tart! My sauce is more spicy and juicy, rather than sweet, and perfect with most meats to cut through the rich fatty flavours.
