Vegetarian Luxuries

We're home for Christmas this year so am in charge of my own meals :) Being vegetarian (and given the food preferences of extended family) I find I spend most of my time eating bland and overly rich preprepared supermarket party food, and it's all just a bit bleurgh. So, having thought about it, I've decided to go with buying small amounts of good quality luxury ingredients.

So far I have:
naice cheeseboard (no novelty flavoured cheese!)
avocados
fancy eggs
truffles
exotic mushrooms

any more suggestions? I'm also open to suggestions of things to make that involve a lot of time/effort. Maybe making sourdough or similar...

If you are making sourdough get yourself a few nice antipasti: olives, roasted peppers, artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes, brined garlic cloves, stuffed sweet chillis etc. You can make these yourself or buy them in but they are such treat food!

Out of season but available if you don't mind import: asparagus; try griddled served with a fried duck egg for dipping.

Eggs Florentine for breakfast on Christmas day.

If you are being force fed beige party food for a couple of days get yourself/make yourself a days worth of really delicious light Mediterranean tomato and herb/basil/whatever soup. Go to a little trouble and roast down the tomatoes to intensify them before skinning them and removing the seeds rather than using tinned. Have this with olive oil bread.

All the cheese and nice things to go alongside - eg Peppadew peppers, Garners pickled onions and red cabbage, posh crackers and crisps

Picky things - really good hoummus, baba ganoush, falafel, olives etc

Croissants and posh jam
