Pickled red cabbage
Sprouts with chestnuts & bacon
Mash made with butter & cream
Proper gravy made from the gammon juices

Mince pie strudel and custard for afters.

Roast turkey breast, chipolata, sausage meat stuffing, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, sweetcorn, baby carrots, tenderstem brocolli and turkey gravy.

They've requested Toblerone cheesecake and vanilla ice cream for pudding 🙄😁

RapunzelsRealMom · 02/12/2018 20:43

Starter - choice of pate and oatcakes or prawn cocktail
Soup - lentil and veg with home made bread roll
Main - turkey, stuffing, roast potatoes, honey glazed carrots and parsnip, sprouts, gravy, cranberry sauce
Dessert - trifle or Christmas pud
Cheeseboard (probably won't eat and that plus leftovers will be a Boxing Day buffet)

Can't wait!!

Hassled · 02/12/2018 20:48

Standard roast turkey but absolutely no sprouts. We always have braised red cabbage and parsnip puree (mashed with cream and nutmeg) as veg.

CountessOfNowhere · 02/12/2018 21:01

Pescatarians here. Homemade parsnip soup to start, poached salmon, pan-fried garlicky prawns, roast potatoes, sprouts (although I'm the only one who likes them), temderstem broccoli and carrots, then cheese, biscuits, fruit and mince pies.

FTFF · 02/12/2018 21:10

•Prawn cocktail
•Soup (veg or lentil usually)
•Turkey, stuffing, sprouts, boiled and roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, carrots, peas, broccoli, red cabbage, cranberry sauce, bread sauce, gravy and probably more I can't think of
•Trifle, cheesecake, Christmas pudding, ice cream
•Cheese and biscuits
•Copious amounts of wine and port.

I'm working this year and I'm devastated about missing out on......the trifle. That is my favourite part of the whole Christmas dinner.

We eat in the evening. Have bacon, eggs, toast and fizz for brunch then:-
Roast Goose (thoroughly recommend)
Festive stuffing (Paxo with added orange/lemon juice & zest)
Pigs in blankets
Roast potatoes (in goose fat - of course!)
Roast parsnips
Roasted shallots
Butternut squash (mashed with butter & salt)
Sprouts
Gravy
copious amounts of alcohol
Chocolates for pud
I have already got the pigs in blankets, butternut squash and stuffing in the freezer and will cook/carve the goose a day or two before Christmas Day so I can spend time with the family. It's a rich meat and won't dry out.

Oh - and pigs in blankets - I must not forget them!

Highlove · 04/12/2018 19:55

Oh I’d love goose but we’re just too many people - 8 adults and three greedy kids. So turkey and ham here.

Never quite got round to the list the other night - because wine - so am about to do it.
