You all helped with my last Christmas baking disaster, so thought I’d try you again! This time I’ve added the brandy to the mincemeat before cooking it. Shall I just add more after cooking?

It may be time to give up on Christmas baking . . .Blush

Or maybe stop doing it late at night Grin

Sorry - one more question! I’ve made more than I’ll be able to fit in the jars I have. Will it be ok for another day until I can buy more jars??

A late reply, but stick some brandy in any time. I usually lug in a bit just before I start baking, because the mincemeat sometimes looks a bit dry.

I made mine using apple juice for non alcoholic ones which taste nice.

I did add some sherry afterwards to my other batch but it tasted slightly bitter in the pies. Any ideas to improving it or is it because shops bought is over sweet. This is Mary Berry's version. I've made some pies already.
