Okay so I don't live a particularly healthy lifestyle and I want to change that and also stop the consumption of meat on my part although I only eat meat maybe twice a week my only issue is I'm incredibly allergic to soy/soya are there any good meat and protein substitutes so I could avoid the risk of my health whilst I swap diets?

It's possible to have a healthy lifestyle AND eat meat however if you do want to cut it out then other options are

Quorn - it's made with mycoprotein and not soy
Lentils, beans, nuts & seeds
Quinoa
Peas

If you are OK with still having dairy then cheese, yoghurt, eggs are great options - if not then most supermarkets now sell vegan cheese and yoghurt

One thing to be aware of is that, unlike animal proteins, the majority of veggie proteins (excluding quinoa, soy, hemp and buckwheat) don
don't contain all the amino acids and so you need to combine foods to make sure you get everything you need. Examples of things that will give you all of them are:
•Red beans with rice
•Black beans and polenta
•hummus and seed crackers
•Chickpeas and quinoa
•Peanut butter and wholegrain bread

If you are buying nut milk then make sure you buy the ones that are fortified with calcium etc (e.g. Alpro) and take a B12 supplement as it's REALLY hard to get that from a diet that doesn't contain animal products

You could just become vegetarian instead of going completely vegan. Then you could get protein from eggs and dairy.
