Sausage casserole is very nice in a slow cooker, but you have to be prepared for the sausages to be soft! I pre-cook them so they're browned first, then shove in with some onion, carrot, turnip (or swede) and some new potatoes and whatever stock works with the sausage type. Four, five hours on high (or much longer on medium) and you're done. The sauce sometimes needs a bit of thickening but that's easy done.
