Gluten, dairy and chocolate free dessert ideas please

Dinner-party Standard dessert ideas needed, must be gluten, dairy and chocolate free. In the past I've made meringues, fruit salad or poached pears served with dairy-free ice-cream for this friend, but would like some new ideas please.

Rice pudding made with rose water and cardamom, serve with pomegranate arils. Use a plant mylk, like coconut or almond.

ÃŽles flottantes, but use hazelnut mylk to make the custard.

You get coconut condensed milk, which opens up the world of salted caramel.

Tarta de Santiago if you can use eggs.

Softpebbles · 24/11/2018 13:49

Watching with interest as I am intolerant to all of those things too 😊 I like a nice crumble. Somewhere once served me an amazing frangipan.

PerspicaciaTick · 24/11/2018 13:52

How about a champagne jelly with strawberries?

AdaColeman · 24/11/2018 14:02

Figs baked with honey

Winter fruit salad

Peeled sliced oranges in red wine syrup with pomegranate seeds.

Involves no cooking, but every flavour of booja booja vegan icecream I’ve tried is a stunner.

Ricekrispie22 · 24/11/2018 16:09

Baked apples with spiced sultanas. I soak my sultanas in amaretto and add some grated marzipan to the sultana mixture. There are loads of other versions of baked apples. I've tried another recipe with honey and pecans.

Grilled glazed pineapple with Alpro coconut ice cream and lime syrup.

This delicious orange cake www.smallacornsblog.co.uk/2018/05/12/orange-and-almond-cake/
This is similar but I haven't personally tried this recipe www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/gluten-free-orange-cake

Nigella’s clementine cake - it is utterly delicious and easy to make too.

vanillaessence04 · 24/11/2018 16:30

-Lots of vegetable quick breads (carrot cake, pumpkin bread) use oil instead of butter and work well with gf flour
-check our vegan websites for nuts-based instead of butter
-beans, chestnuts, polenta, avocado and other swaps for flour and/or butter or make things moist
-i make my own gf flour by grinding gf oats = nice texture in baking, a bit different

AdaColeman · 24/11/2018 16:33

Home made lemon sorbet with blackberry sauce.

Whole roasted pineapple with black pepper syrup.

i require all of the above and love it and so appreciate it when someone serves chocolatey dessert for me at dinner parties as i'm endlessly craving it. Even if it were just warm vegan gluten free brownies with vegan ice cream, which is super easy to make, I'd be over the bloody moon. You can always make it look posh in the presentation, do a sauce/add nuts or fruit etc.
Vegan chocolate mousse is another quick fix that can be made nice for a dinner party.

Todayisanewday75 · 01/12/2018 08:19

Nigellas chocolate olive oil cake is perfect for a dinner party

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/12/2018 17:38

Thank you but need to be chocolate free too, sorry if title wasn't clear

OP posts:
dontgobaconmyheart · 02/12/2018 03:00

Oh sorry, just noticed the title, when I say chocolate, I obviously mean the dairy free, vegan, gluten free kind. Most of the vegan 'chocolate' recipes dont contain chocolate at all. Just cacao powder, which is gluten/wheat/dairy free, but fair enough if it's not suitable, will read better next time Wink. Hope whatever you make goes down a storm OP, I'm sure they'll appreciate your efforts.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 02/12/2018 14:40

Don't worry @dontgobaconmyheart, I do that all the time. I think it's the cocoa content itself that's the problem. I usually go for something fruity but am running out of ideas as we entertain this couple fairly frequently. If there are other people eating with us too I make a second 'unrestrained' dessert

Sticky toffee Pear Pudding

sumsumsum · 02/12/2018 23:19

Terrific links, thanks, Ricekrispie, especially!

ArcheryAnnie · 02/12/2018 23:25

If you do Nigella's quick salted caramel sauce recipe, but with vegan marge and soya milk, it tastes exactly like butterscotch - it's amazing.

MarinaMarinara · 02/12/2018 23:39

Ooh - watching with interest. I can have gluten but not dairy and chocolate is a bit iffy (I seem to be hypersensitive to things that contain even quite low levels of caffeine).

I’ve managed to make a decent parfait with coconut cream. Also works for a fruit syllabub type thing (the consistency is a bit off but not bad).

Or vegan ice cream with a dessert wine or liquor poured over (Pedro Jimenez sherry tastes like bottled boozy raisins).

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 03/12/2018 09:39

@EvaReady have you made the pear pudding with gluten free flour? I believe that sometimes GF flour affects the consistency
