Help!! To much garlic powder in stew

I went to shake some garlic powder in my slow cooker stew and a mountain of garlic came out. My house is now stinking of garlic.

Is there anything I can do or just hope it tastes better than it smells, I've only just put it on so it hasn't started cooking yet

If you haven’t started cooking it yet, I think I’d tip it all into a colander or sieve and rinse very gently under the cold water, then drain, tip back into the slow cooker and start again but with less water/stock

Though garlic powder is often less potent than it smells so you could add a bit of mustard/marmite/extra herbs/ stock cube or a bit of passata and hope for the best

I'd wait and see how it tastes.

Pop some extra chunks of potato in, they should help to absorb it

Thank you for your replies,

I decided to drain the liquid and replace so hopefully it'll be okay.

Now not sure how to get rid of the garlic stink in my house I'm upstairs and it's so strong
