Pre making dinner question!

Hi

Stupid question alert Blush

I've always prepared dinner and immediately cooked it. We're getting busier after school so I'm thinking of making dinner during the day, ready for putting in the oven when we get home .

My question- if I make something like cottage pie/ lasagne, I'm assuming I'd need to put in the fridge until we're home. Would it be ok to put the Pyrex dish straight from fridge to oven? If not how do you do it?!

(Disclaimer, am a bit lax about such things)... if I were making a cottage pie or some such at say 2pm, I'd bung it in the (not turned on) oven to sit until I walked in and turned the oven on.

Yeah that will be fine. I regularly prep meals in advance to save time.

Making it the day before, yes refrigerate. Making it that day, no need for lasagna or cottage pie.

Making something with chicken cool then refrigerate until ready to heat up.

Pyrex can in theory go straight from fridge to oven but I would take it out of the fridge 20 minutes before putting it into a hot oven personally.
