Honey flapjacks. Is it OK to use instead of syrup?

I just wonder if I can replace all of the syrup with honey without wrecking the consistency. I will be using some sugar too.

C'mon bakers. Are you all too busy kneading?

Well I've made them before with just honey because I can't get syrup over here and thought they seemed OK.

Thanks.

I'm sure they will be fine and probably taste nicer than ones made with syrup. Let us know how you get on.

Will do.

They're in the oven. Treble quantities with dried cranberries, sesame seeds and coconut so I hope they work out with all those ingredients.

I'm giving some to my friend who has just had an ovary out after an ectopic pregnancy.

They sound fab! Another version worth trying is ginger flapjacks; add some chopped crystallised ginger and a sprinkle of ground ginger.

OK they're out. They're delicious but quite crumbly and mishapen. Perhaps I cut them too early. I cut them in the pan then wait until they're lukewarm and get them out. Is that OK?

I'll try ginger. I love ginger.
