Northern Italian recipes

Had a meal recently at a wonderful Italian restaurant in London, where the food is from northern Italy. I was struck by how much I prefer that style of Italian cooking eg carbonara with no cream.

I’m struggling to find a recipe book, does anyone have any good Italian dishes from the north of the country?

You also might like Claudia Rodens's Food of Italy which is divided up into regions and has may traditional recipes , not just 'the usual'.. I bought it when it came out 25yrs ago and still use it today

Polpo is a lovely book, all from Venice.

Thanks, will have a look at those too. I don't cook at all, DP is the chef of the house. He tends to go for fairly simple recipes that don't require lots of ingredients, would this style of food match that?

Option B is to ask the restaurant whether they'd let me live there. Grin
