Meat Hampers Online

I caught the tail end of an interview on This Morning today and a woman said she orders her meat online which last her a month.

Does anyone else do this and if so, who do you use?

Is it worth it? Is the quality good?

I go to the butchers as much as possible but it's out of the way and can be expensive. I find supermarket meat to be poor quality mostly. If I could get a months worth delivered to freeze, that is good quality and cost effective, I'd be a very happy bunny!

Happier than the bunny who ends up in your freezer, that's for sure.

I buy an 'everyday meat box' from Riverford Organic once or twice a month alongside our weekly veg box- the quality is excellent but it is more expensive than regular supermarket meat (although about the same as supermarket brand organic meat) and it probably wouldn't be enough if you eat a lot of meat as a family. We probably only eat meat 2 times a week max so it's OK for us with some meal planning to ensure nothing is wasted.

I have heard people on MN mention Musclefoods meat boxes before but never used myself so unsure of the quality although it looks cheap!

But thinking about it if you wanted a month's worth in one go OP, there's no reason you couldn't order more than one box at a time from Riverford? They also do a 'choose your own' service if you order over a certain amount I think...

I’ve used Field and Flower and Donald Russell - both very good

I’ve recently had meat boxes from Riverford and the Dorset Meat Company. I prefer the DMC meat though, lately I got a box and some extra bits including joints/whole chicken. I find it is similar in price to organic meat elsewhere but I prefer that it comes from small farms with pasture feed animals.
