Anyone know if there is a supermarket that stocks them? I'm sure I've seen them before in both Waitrose and M&S, but the branches local to me don't stock them anymore. I've tried Tesco, but no luck. I've got a Nigella recipe I want to cook this weekend that I need them for. Any help would be gratefully received.

Maybe the in store butcher In waitrose but a proper butcher would be your best bet

I’ve not found them in a supermarket but my local butcher has them.
Have you a butcher locally.?
A family butcher is well worth supporting.
I live alone and my butcher will sell me one pork chop or if I only want two sausages he is happy to get me them.

Just buy a whole chicken then cut them off yourself?! HmmHmm

MabelBee · 04/10/2018 21:28

I've often bought these from Tesco, called chicken breast quarters.

local butchers/farm shop is probably your best bet OP - but if none nearby there are good online butchers that could probably deliver for the weekend if needed (although will be a bit more pricey)

Might be available frozen or cut up a whole chicken yourself?

Whole chicken is probably cheapest way to do it, you can always freeze the thighs and drumsticks to use later and you're more likely to get a free range chicken this way if that's what you buy.

Or, ask a butcher to cut it how you want it. Even Morrisons meat counter has proper trained butchers. They'd probably be pleased to prep meat in a 'proper' way instead of endless deboned sanitised breasts.

I used you buy that at morrisons for a mini roast.

BlackForestCake · 07/10/2018 22:04

Just buy a chicken.

Waitrose definitely sell these, I had one last week (I think they were called 'chicken portions' or similar. Yum!
