But - if you didn’t do the topping, you’re missing out on a load of Lotusy-ness! And Lotus spread is one of the most divine foodstuffs (well, the smooth one is), so why wouldn’t you do that?

Because by the time it came to put it on dd2 had already got stuck into the jar with a spoon....
