Not wanting to spoil MarsLady's Lemon Drizzle cake.....

but DD1 has requested it in the shape of a number 8 (with choc chunks mixed in) for her birthday next month. She doesn't like the icing that goes with it though. Any ideas as to an alternative icing/way to decorate the cake?

Seriously..............I have no idea.

So does she want the LDC, but with choc chunks ?

If she is going to have chocolate in it, stick chocolate on the top too. Or just plain icing - use water instead of lemon.

there is a recipe for a chocolate version around somewhere. Choc and Orange icing might work well with that.

I've made the lemon drizzle cake with chocolate icing.... also a lime version works really well with chocolate (orange would as well, but I haven't made that)

Try a lime and chocolate version and if you like it, use that. We LOVED it in our house

Yes, she'd like it with chocolate chunks (think the recipe is in Green and Blacks cookbook).
Choc/orange icing sounds nice.
Thanks for the suggestions.
