About to roast some carrots but no honey

What else can I use?
I normally do red wine vinegar, honey and olive oil.
I’ve got some golden syrup. Shall I try that, sparingly?
Or do something completely different?
TIA

Do you have any maple syrup? Marmalade is another thought

Theworldisfullofgs · 10/09/2018 17:12

Cumin is good. Seeds better than powder.

Or thyme and a bit of butter.

A very small amount of golden syrup and some lemon juice would work

Alternatively a balsamic glaze or maple syrup if you have either of them.

Or 'roast' them in a small amount of orange juice.

Butter and brown sugar also works well

Thank you very much
I have cumin seeds and as my guest has expressed a desire to eat healthily, I think it’s the best option Smile

I find them sweet anyway, so just let some garlic cloves and cumin caramelise with them

this is going to sound really boring but I love roast carrots without the other bits now.add some sweet potato pepper and red onion.

Moominfan · 10/09/2018 17:32

Brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper and chilli flakes

Thanks for all the replies.
I did the carrots with the cumin seeds and some lemon and they went down really well. I also roasted broccoli, cauliflower and butternut squash with garlic and flaked almonds. Delicious even if I do say so myself Grin
