Vegetarian Dinner party - help!!

hi
Entertaining some veggies next weekend - they don't eat mushrooms , anything spicy , eggs, blue cheese or chocolate!

The problem is that i have never cooked a veggie dish ( apart from a curry ) that was really tasty .

I have found a Nigel Slater stuffed red peppers recipe which has middle eastern flavours and was thinking of this for the main course . Anyone cooked this or have any alternative suggestions for really tasty veggie dishes ?

For starter and to keep the theme was thinking of a feta salad with pomegranates etc?

Dessert - baked apples with cinnamon mascarpone and caramelised pecans

TIA x

Is it a formal dinner party or more relaxed with friends? If the latter - Anna Jones has a good recipe for black bean tacos

annajones.co.uk/recipe/lime-and-chipotle-black-bean-tacos

It does have chipotle in it but not very spicy (you can add more spice via the salsa for those who want...)

More relaxed and this looks great - was just reading about Anna Jones as you replied . Thanks!

There is a pea, goats cheese and pesto risotto on bbc good food which is delicious.
Bruschetta to start and Eaton mess to finish?

Jamie Oliver’s veg chilli with the roasted sweet potatoes is amazing!

So it was v successful !

Started with a feta and watermelon salad
and then followed with the Nigel Slater stuffed peppers, a sweet potato salad ( from Claudia Roden's Arabesque) and a chickpea and swiss chard salad ( Simple by Ottolenghi)
Finished with individual apple and pecan crumbles !

That all sounds delicious Gez glad it was a success!

I got Simple a couple of weeks ago and really like it! In fact I'm struggling to think of an Ottolenghi recipe that has let me down - nope!
