About to go out and buy condensed milk to make custard ice-cream to go with apple crumble on Sunday. It’s one of my favourite lazy recipes, can be put together in minutes and tastes delicious.

You whip up a tub of cream, add a tin of condensed milk and a tin of ready made custard, whisk again, then freeze.

I’m also a fan of Nesquik brownies and cheese “sauce” made with a pot of creme fraiche + a couple of good handfuls of grated cheese and seasoning.

Anyway I wondered whether any lazy or time poor cooks wanted to share any of their favourite short-cuts?

Nesquik brownies sound amazing so you have a recipe? I’ll have a think for my lazy recipes

Creme fraiche topped with cheese on top or lasagne or moussaka.

Posh pud for Christmas (sorry, I know it's September)
Christmas pudding ice cream=
Whip large tub double cream, fold in large tub good quality fresh custard. Crumble in a small Xmas pudding.
Chuck in freezer. If you're feeling creative, freeze it in a bowl lined with cling film so that it looks pudding shaped.
Do NOT attempt to flambé it with brandy at the table!

Oh, like the sound of that custard icecream.

Frozen chopped onions - no more stinky onion fingers

Frozen roast potatoes. No idea why I stuck it out the old fashioned way for so long, when the shop bought ones in goose fat are so damn good.

Chocolate mouse made with marshmallows - Nigella's one. About 4 ingredients and no more than 10 mins to make and you can put into fancy pants bowls for a stylish looking pud.

Glad I started this thread now Smile love the sound of Xmas pud ice-cream and Marshmallow Mousse!

Agree to chopped onions from the freezer and also grated cheeses- esp Parmesan which can be added to recipes straight from the freezer.

Nesquik brownies aren't as good as ones made with actual chocolate but they are a close second, and a lot less expensive to make. Hope you can read my handwriting!
