Are slow cookers worth it?

I’ve never used one and have no idea about them?! Thinking may be nice for winter. xx

You can have mine OP. Everything comes out insipid and feels like the meat has been pre chewed.
I've never understood the convenience either, if you're browning off meat and vegetables you might as well make a proper casserole in the oven.

I love mine, and yes definitely use it more in the winter months. Like PP above I cook off onions and brown meat before popping in the other ingredients. Sometimes I find it easier cooking two meals at the same time so being able to get ahead in a busier week, be cooking one dinner on the hob/oven whilst sorting out one for the slow cooker.
Makes me feel like one of those 'she's got it together' Mums you see on the telly!
I've even been known to take mine camping Grin

I should add, its mostly used when we're of for the full day and will be coming in ravenous. Stops us buying chippies, etc. If I'm in, I'd probably use my oven cos I'd do baked potatoes at the same time.
