Roast chicken.
Dahl.
Soup, veg, lentil or minestronie.
Stew.

Spag Bol
Chilli con carne
Chilli pasta bake with left over chilli
Bolognaise pasta bake with left over spagbol
Egg chips and beans
Omelette and salad
Gammon egg and chips
Jacket potato with cheesy beans
Chicken casserole

Black beans and sausages
Dhal makhani
Sautéed kale, onions and sausages
Black bean hash with a fried egg on top
"Stone soup" made with all the bits and bobs in the fridge and bendy veg in the bottom of the veg drawer
Migas (especially if there's a deal on eggs)
Spaghetti with garlic, chilli, bacon and fried breadcrumbs

Looking at my list, they rely heavily on the contents of my cupboards which is what makes them cheap - ie spices, dried beans and lentils, all of which I buy in bulk in my local Asian supermarket. If I had to buy them all in it to make each recipe it might not be as cheap to start with. So shop your cupboards first and see if you have anything stashed away to use up, what you already own is always cheapest!!
