How much fruit is there in a 14/15oz can of halved apricots?

I'm assuming some will be the weight of the liquid

I have a much larger jar of fruit I want to use & need to work out the correct weight

TIA

I'm looking at one can that specifies 150g, 140g drained weight (it's sweetcorn, as it happens) so that might easily get described as a 150g tin in a recipe, rather than 140g of corn, IYSWIM. Sainsbury's chickpeas are described as 400g, but only 240g drained weight.

I think I'd assume that if you're looking at a recipe that calls for a 14/15oz can of fruit, that would be net weight (ie fruit plus syrup). Maybe use about 70% of the weight to compensate from your larger jar?

That's brilliant Dolores - you gave me the idea of looking for drained weight on-line!!

236 is about 8 or 9 oz

Woo-hoo you're a genius - thanks
