My trusty old food processor broke. I need a new one.

I’d like it not to cost the earth but I want something capable of grinding up soaked nuts. I cook of vegan food and the last one couldn’t really cope. Also making small amounts of curry paste.

Anyone know of anything suitable?

The nutribullet will do that, pretty good with small quantities and has a extra blade that ginds dry stuff. Think they're a lot cheaper than they used to be, or get a used one off facebook or ebay.

I have the vitamix but it is very expensive. It is amazing though, I'm vegan and use it all the time. Sometimes you can get it on the shopping channel with 3 interest free payments.

TBH, with these sort of electrics, it is really worth paying more for something heavy duty. I grew up with Vitamix - my parents are still using the one they purchased 30 years ago. They make their own soy milk with it, as well as using it as a coffee grinder for espresso.

I have one which has been used daily for 5 years for sauces, soups, smoothies, milkshakes, homemade nutella. No problems to date. From time-to-time Costco has them in stock and they did have them in my local one 2 weeks ago.

I really wish I could afford a vitamix but it’s just too much of a stretch at the moment. I’ll have a look at the nutribullet.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Hi again, I also have the vitamix - not loaded, just coveted one for years and years and then one day thought, bugger it I might not have many more years to enjoy it. Its fab - especially soup-making (heats things up with kinetic (movement) energy not radiant heat) and the smoothies. But: its not great with small quantities.

Agree with nutribullet, very happy with mine. Having used a vitamix I think it's pretty much the next best thing that doesn't cost hundreds of pounds

I’ve now ordered a nutribullet. Thanks all!
