Recipe Inspiration

Hi!
I run a small blog which has recipe ideas for families. I am a fully trained chef and recipe developer but due to childcare I now work from home doing something unrelated. So because Iove food, I decided to blog about it and hopefully try and give some inspiration at meal times for families. I have just just started it and would love some feedback. If anyone is interested please visit www.nutri-fam.com

Thanks

Both the grammar and spelling need some work

Agree with Blondie. Things like not knowing the difference between family’s and families would put me off reading your blog. I just find it too distracting.

Good luck with the blog. I like the nice clean layout on the homepage and where you click through. The range of dishes on the first page looked appealing to me. The photography is fine too - the dishes look bright and tasty- but you might want to work on some food styling if the kids and work leave you time! I find the standard of photography/food styling for amateur food bloggers is getting really high.

As others have said, you need to be a bit more careful about spelling and grammar. There are a fair few misding commas and in a few places you capitalise where it isn’t needed. And you may want to be more precise about ingredients - For e.g referring to chorizo you need to be clear whether this is raw or cured etc.

Haha, the irony of writing ‘misding’ when criticising spelling! Looks like I need lessons in proofreading 🙂

Sorry but as with pp, the grammar and spelling is really bad and looks very unprofessional. I'm afraid I can't get past this to even look at the recipes.

*In our household, pancakes is a firm favourite. But what happens when your out of eggs and your son wants pancakes? "

eg: pancakes ARE (they're plural)
your - pet hate of mine, this should be you're (the apostrophe denotes a missing letter, in this 'a', so in full, it would be 'you are'.
Random capital letters all over the place.

Even your intro doesn't make sense:
"Here you'll find recipes created by me to show how cooking meals that the whole family can enjoy is fun, flavourful can be done within a family budget."
You might want to add an 'and' after flavourful.

There's no navigation on the individual recipe pages OP. Once you're on a recipe there's nowhere to go so you'll lose people. You need to have a way (usually called 'breadcrumbs') of enabling people on a specific breakfast recipe page to go back to other breakfast recipes, recipes, or home. So the nav would look like this at the top of each page:

Home > recipes > breakfast recipes > scrambled eggs

The type is just too large in places for the page I think. It's really "in your face" to me.

The Recipes index is a bit vague - you'd be better organising by ingredient or categories such as meat, fish, veg etc.
