Help! What can I take to a potluck?!

Help a woman out. Invited to a pot luck barbecue and we are in charge of appetisers and sides. Personally I’d go to the supermarket and hit up the salad bar but DH reckons this is not in the spirit of things and we should actually make something. Groan. He will help and do his fair share, I just don’t want to lose our entire Saturday to cooking and it’s going to be really hot here so standing in front of the stove is not on my to-do list. So please hit me up with your foolproof quick and easy appetiser and side ideas! Must be easy to transport. Thank you

Peach caprese skewers are great barbecue appetisers with very little work. I would have suggested bruschetta but they don't travel very well.

Thank you so much, the skewers are genius and the bean salad and cous cous sound delicious. I have no excuse now!

Roasted veggies, tossed with couscous, pesto and feta or goats cheese is easy and delicious.

A big salad of some sort also could work - tomatoes, red onion (finely sliced), parsley, olive oil and vinegar of choice (I like red wine) with plenty of salt is easy to prepare without cooking.

I'm not exactly sure what constitutes appetisers at a bbq but I'd just buy some crisps and dips myself. Maybe some olives. Nobody wants "proper" food when there's a bbq on the go.

Delia does a lovely broad bean and pancetta salad, very easy and I use frozen baby broad beans .
Potato salad always goes down well here too, and you can zuzz it up a bit with chopped hard boiled eggs and chopped chives
