Non-baker desperately needs to bake something!!

Ok, my lovely friend has a birthday next week. She is renowned for her baking skills, and always, always provides a beautiful cake when it's someone else's birthday.

I really really want to make her something, but I am a TOTAL novice. I have access to various tins etc, and will borrow a hand whisk.... but what to make?

Does anyone have a super lovely (and idiot proof) recipe? It will need to feed 5 or 6 of us with a cuppa.

Thank you Smile

Do a really simple non-cook fridge cake (digestives, butter, syrup and cocoa powder basically). Then decorate it really well like this.

Check out the “she who bakes” recipes online, they’re brilliant and really easy.

Can't go wrong with Tiffin or flapjacks

This raspberry ripple cheesecake sponge from The Pink Whisk is amazing.

All in one sponge - honestly it’s so easy!
You could top it with fresh strawberries and some icing sugar.

Lovely ideas!! I may be crazy but I think I'm going to attempt the raspberry tipple one- it looks bloody gorgeous!!

I'll let you all know how it goes!!
