Pasta for packed lunch

If I cook pasta/pesto this morning, can I cool in fridge, then put in tupperware for my son to take to school.
It won't be hot and it won't be kept chilled (though I put a cool bar in the lunch bag). Will it be safe to just sit in school until lunch time?

Pasta can be made and then eaten safely for days, nothing to worry about. Plenty of people take pasta for lunch.

If you put it in a tub/fridge still warm though it might go a bit weird and stodgy though.

Put an ice pack in the lunchbox.

Thanks. Kirsten I should have time for it to cool actually, we're not leaving for another 50 mins and it's nearly done.

Now to find a plastic pot that hasn't got sodding aqua beads in!

When I go this I usually cook my pasta then run it under cold water - means the pasta cools quicker and doesn't all stick together to make one big pasta lump Smile

  • do, not go Grin it's still early
