Chicken?

I just got a whole chicken for £1.70 in M&S! Use by date for today but I’ve already got a casserole in the oven. Should I freeze it, cook it tonight or cook it tomorrow?!

This is American but would still apply www.eatbydate.com/proteins/poultry/how-long-does-chicken-last-shelf-life-expiration-date/

You can use it or freeze it today if it smells ok when you take the plastic off. With chicken I always use my nose - just because something's in date doesn't mean it's ok and vice versa and chicken will start to whiff immediately if it's compromised (unlike rice for example which can seem fine when it isn't).

Thanks guys, I ended up cooking it last night then waited for it to cook before putting in the fridge, we’ll have it cold tonight with chips! X
