Funfetti Cake issues

I tried making one of these for my daughter's last birthday, but the hundreds and thousands that I used just bled into the cake mix so I ended up with a brown cake with white crunchy bits in it. Has anybody got any suggestions as to the brand of hundreds and thousands to use? What should I be using something different?

I used Betty Crocker ones and hey seemed to hold up quite well.

You need the big thicker American style sprinkles. Amazon have them. Or eBay. They are brighter and bigger too and work well.

Ck jimmies are a brand that work and can be bought from amazon, or in individual Colorado from sugar shack.co.uk. Or 100s and 1000s from australia which are what I like best.

*colours not Colorado

You need sprinkles made with artificial colours. The ones that are widely available in supermarkets are made with natural colouring.
