Goats cheese starter what to do for mains?

I'm having a deep fried goats cheese starter for a dinner with friends next week. Any idea what to serve as a mains/dessert? I'm pregnant and still quiet nauseous so fish isn't ideal Confused love cooking so throw the challenges at meGrin thanks

Rack of lamb and cheese cake for pudding.

You could have absolutely anything your going to have to give us a bit more of a clue what kind of evening it is Grin

I absolutely love goats cheese with red onion marmalade.

If I had that as a starter in a restaurant I'm probably most likely to then go for something like lamb steak with glazed carrots and dauphinois potatoes. Or seabass (sorry) or something really garlicky like a fancy pasta.

It's more a chilled out catch up nothing two swanky but myself and the wife of the other couple are a little bit competitive when it comes to cooking Grin

How about lamb kleftiko? Easy on the stomach. and yy to cheesecake or key lime pie afterwards? Again, light and easy. Or, since you've got goats cheese to start with, maybe a fruit-based dish? pavlova? Eton mess? apparently we've got loads of strawberries in the Uk at the mo. Just no workers to pick them.....

Like a PP I was going to say roast lamb studded with garlic and rosemary, served with Gratin Dauphinois. So easy to do and you can prepare it well in advance and bung it in the oven.

And glazed carrots, too - perfect!

steak tornedos rossini and pommes anna ...only last minute thing is the steak

and I always love a creme caramel/ creme brulee/ pannacotta for afters! :o

Goats cheese starter sounds great but think a cheese cake to then finish with might be a bit much? This time of year I just like english strawberries mixed with blueberries with some greek yoghurt or creme fraise.

Or and Eton mess to finish would be great this time of year. Maybe go for a Moroccan lamb dish, or tapas as weather appropriate food.

Go easy on the heavy creamy dishes if you're starting with goat's cheese. Strawberries would be lovely for dessert - maybe with a bought lemon sorbet to ring the changes? Lamb kelftiko would be lovely. You can even cook it in advance and then give it the last hour on the night. I'm all for lots of flavour without hours of slaving away. Roasted Mediterranean veg would be a good accompaniment - I put sliced fennel in with mine.
