I have a large bottle of veg oil so don’t really want to buy sunflower oil too, unless there‘d a reason veg oil would have a detrimental effect on the cake

I use them interchangeably (including in cakes), never had a problem!

So long as its not one with a flavour will be fine

Yes, absolutely.

Is it veg oil with a non veggie flavour. Sunflower oil is taste neutral so is only used for moistness. If it has a flavour it would affect the taste .

Thank you. It’s for a carrot cake so will have a veggie flavour anyway!!
