Help me decorate this cake! Picture included!

I want to decorate this "decorate your own cake" from M&S. It's for my mum's 70th. I have bought a cake topper. If I buy 2 tiers, how do I get them to look like they do in the picture? Do I need to buy some feet or supports? I like the idea of using fresh flowers to decorate / fill the gap between the layers. Any advice appreciated! Thanks

Some baker's shop will lend the supports. Gerberas would be nice for decoration.

You can buy the cake dowels in m&s in the bakery section. You insert 4 or 6 etc in to the bottom cake to help support the weight of the top cake. Both cakes remain on their boards, so you then just place the smaller cake on top and decorate with fresh flowers.

M and s sell the dowels in the cake section.
