Low fat - if it is the reduced fat version it's OK.

GFY - yes, very.

No calories at all as far as I know

Kathyis6incheshigh · 16/05/2007 12:59

You can make it with loads of olive oil so that it's not low fat exactly, but obviously if it's olive oil that's fantastically good for you in spite of being fat - cancels out all the other fat you eat or something.

Dh makes his own. We often have it as a snack in the evening with carrot sticks.

It's yummy with lots of lemon in it too.

Y0rkshirelass · 16/05/2007 13:01

Hooray

Now, are you all telling me the truth?

Very good, my sister makes her own too.

Try it served warm with oilve oil and lemon over with hot pittas to dip in.

Smooth a layer over a dinner plate and warm in microwave for about 30 seconds. yummmmm.

pesme · 16/05/2007 13:04

it is good for you but in moderation as it is fairly fattening.

Y0rkshirelass · 16/05/2007 13:06

Wotzsaname I hadn't even thought of having it warm, ooooh

droooool

um, one of the little tubs of the regular hummus is about 500 calories, which may be ok since its fulla protein. Don't like the reduced fat stuff as it has more junk in it. Hummus on salad...yummmmmm[lip-licking emotion]

Wotzsaname · 16/05/2007 13:07

pesme - I read..
'it is good for you but in moderation as it is fairly fartening'
opps lol

yes warm is nice too.

purpleduck · 16/05/2007 13:08

hummus even makes ryvitas taste nice

OrmIrian · 16/05/2007 13:15

It's yummy, reasonable good for you and not at all low-fat. Does that help?

Y0rkshirelass · 16/05/2007 13:16

Oh I knew it! Anything that tastes that nice must be fattening

OP posts:
OrmIrian · 16/05/2007 13:17

But as someone pointed out it's made with olive oil so it's only got 'good' calories which don't count

Arriety · 16/05/2007 13:17

Really good on toast with marmite too!
