Splitting a Frozen Meal to Microwave Later - Help.

hi - i bought a chilled vegan curry dish - really just a sauce with some soya pieces - no rice included.

it's in a flat shallow rectangular tray but i only want to microwave 1/2 of it - by mistake i put it into the freezer instead of the fridge.

so would it be ok to thaw it in order to separate out 1/2 to MV & then refreeze the remaining 1/2 again to use in a couple of weeks?

ps - the meal is not cooked from frozen.

thanks

Can you take it out of the tray, cut it with a serrated knife and put half back?

thanks - no - it's stuck to the tray.

following on from your idea - if i can release from tray by floating on hot water for a short time to break the seal then cut with knife would do the trick(?)
