I have been given a huge tub of green olives with pimento paste in them and there are so many that i dont know what to do with them. I really can not eat that many.

I also have a big tub of black but they are not spiced.

Ideas please!!! I eat chicken, lamb, beef anything except offal and eggs.

Thanks

A nice pesto pasta with black olives

make a chicken tagine with the black olives or a tapenade and the green with pimento stick in your martinis!

Whizz 'em up in a blender to make tapenade? Good as a topping for fish or on toasted french bread a la bruschetta

Throw a handful into any pasta sauce you are making. Add them to salads. Marinate the black ones in garlic, herb and chilli oil.

Add them to g&t's and v&t's delicious

turn the plain ones into tapenade..... will keep for good while with oil layer on top..... invite people round for drinks and (tapenade0 nibbles asap.

whizz up in blender with chickpeas to make pate.

jellyjelly · 13/05/2007 17:52

Is it literally chickpeas and olives to make pate? #anything else that goes in?

It would work with just them; or could add garlic, lemon juice, salt & pepper, and oil or water to get it to a good consistency. Yummy on toast with tomatoes.
