For a christening and then lunch time reception for roughly 80 people.

Hoping for some quick and easy ideas!

I would get joints of roast beef, ham and then a couple of poached salmon and then potato salad, coleslaw, couscous salad or tabbouleh, a couple of nice salads, a cheeseboard, good bread and then a few different desserts

Prehaps slightly more fancy than planned.

I was thinking more sausage rolls.

Mini pizzas - just buy a few packets of the supermarket pizza dough mix and make a big batch with some jars of passata and packets of grated cheese.
Mini pitta pockets with fillings such as roast chicken slices and hummous
Slices of quiche
Slices of French baguette - some spread with pate and others with cream cheese and tomatoes/smoked salmon
Couscous, feta, olive and cucumber salad

I’m always pleased to see a big bowl of fruit salad as part of a buffet. Not too quick but very easy. Jug of cream on the side.

Thank you all.

Trying to keep costs low but guests happy 😂

I know the feeling! If I do one it’s usually for about 15 people, costs about £5 - £6 per person including sandwiches if I can be bothered making them and cutting them up.

Morrison’s deli stuff is nice like the samosas, satays, pies etc

If you want to keep costs low and feed so many people, you need sandwiches! Lots of different fillings...then do sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, crudités, dips, crisps etc to go with it.

Search ‘Buffet platters’ on Pinterest. Some great ideas for what you can include and how to present them. You can make ‘cheap’ buffet content look really special.
Savoury eggs, mini sausages, quartered pork pies, here are a few examples (if I can work out how to add screenshots!)

Get thee to Costco.

Green salad in bowls, pasta salads, cheese, breads, picky stuff, bung-in-the-oven-at-200 pastry stuff. Bosh.

Just don't wander round the rest of the store or you'll need to remortgage for stuff you never knew you ever needed.

Kirkland own brand prosecco is good, too!
