Beef stew

Hello,

I'm making a beef stew for tea. I have potatoes, carrots, parsnips, swede and onions for veg but I'm not sure what flavourings to add to it.

Please can you advise what you put in yours?

Beer or wine. Dumplings.

I always add mustard, tomato puree and Worcestershire sauce to the stock.

I add a bay leaf and some thyme, salt, pepper, tomato purée, mustard powder and a tbsps flour. Then I add beer or wine and stock.

A spoonful of bovril and some fresh herbs then just almost cover with water.
