Mon - make huge tomato sauce, use half to make a tomato risotto
Tues - use tomato sauce as a base for a ragu (with quorn or meat or half half) serve half as spag bol or with baked potatoes
Wed - Make a large cheese sauce use half of it and remaining ragu to make a lasagne
Thurs - use rest of cheese sauce to make macaroni cheese
Fri - fish

I am so great!

All these things took not too much time, esp the mac cheese and it was all served with one hearted portion of smugness!

And take away at the weekend? Fab!

hoxtonchick · 11/05/2007 17:33

. mine are having pasta tonight as not much food in the house. in my defence, it'll be with home-made pesto.

lulumama · 11/05/2007 17:34

you are indeed , so great!

well done !

NoodleStroodle · 11/05/2007 17:34

There is also the mince and toms things - half makes spag bol and half makes chilli con carne - add basil to one and kiderney beans to the other.

anyway I am v impressed and might steal

compo · 11/05/2007 17:36

we have just started to meal plan. So do a roast chicken on Sunay:
Sunday - roast dinner
Monday roast chicken curry
Tuesday - pesto pasta
Wednesday - baked fish of some decription
Thursday- pasta with smoked mackerel or prawns
Friday - spaghetti bol
Saturday - go out (woo hoo!!)

You know, I felt inadequate even before I read this thread.

DimpledThighs · 11/05/2007 17:37

chilli con carne - genius - that would work so well!

I am guessing that I will burn out soon and it will be beans on taost and noodles.

No - NOT NOODLES

DimpledThighs · 11/05/2007 17:38

thanks compo - that's a good one too, don't think I could serve up the same thing week in week out!

sort of a tomato and cheese saUCE extravaganza, dimple

pointydog · 11/05/2007 17:42

have you got very big pots?

DimpledThighs · 11/05/2007 17:50

no - I have one big one and then lots of juggling with medium pans and bowls and stuff rammed into the fridge.

TBH it is a bit meaty, cheese saucey, but the meat sauce is half quorn with loads of hidden veggies. If we ate this every week we would be very fat though.

Think compo's is healthier.

I like this idea of 'rolling dinners' and am stealing some of your ideas dimpledthighs.
I steam extra fish on fish night and use it in fish cakes the next day.
