Dinners that can be prepared in morning and cooked in evening

Hi Everyone

Can anyone recommend any dishes that can be prepared in the morning, left in the fridge during the day and then simply put in the oven at night?

I work full-time and have three children but have more time in the morning (around 6 am) than the evening.

Many thanks

Chicken Supreme:

4 Chicken breasts
1 tub of creme fraiche
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 tbsp flour
300 mls chicken stock or white wine or sherry (or half and half)
Cornflakes
butter

mix creme fr., soup, flour and stock (or other)

pour over chicken
sprinkle with cornflakes
dot top with pieces of butter
refrigerate

cook at 180 C for about 1 - 1.5 hours

can use other types of chicken for this too.

Also:

-Lasagne
-stew
-casseroles - tuna etc
-shepard's/cottage pie
-Spag bol (have bolognese made in advance - noodles cook in 10 mins)

For easy meals - always have pasta around!

sally - always on the quest for good slow cooker recipes, do you have any sites/books you recommend?

Ooooh yes! Slow cooker definitely. Couldn't live without mine ( actually perhaps that's a bit sad...... but it is rather good!) Throw all the ingredients in in the morning - come home to a cooked dinner. I also have one morning per week when I cook like a demon making spag bol, chilli, shepherds pie, casserole, curry etc, throw it all in the freezer. Get it out of the freezer onthe morning I need it then when I get home from work, boil some rice / pasta / bake some spuds and dinner is ready......

Have recently acquired a slow cooker for just this reason sally. So far it's fab just need some more ideas for what to do in it!
Is a big one too - how would I do a whole chicken? Do you mean cut into joints - or actually whole?
