ok so my recipe states i need a 9 inch cake tin

i have a 7 inch cake tin
or an 8 inch sandwich tin

which should i use?

also how do i cool down melted chocolate?

use the 8" one but if there's too much mixture don't feel you have to use it all ie don't fill too full
(make fairy cakes with the rest later)

and just leave it on the side, don't mess with it

its for a birthday cake for 10 people though so it can't be too small!!

I'd probably go for 7 inch tin tbh. My sandwich tins wouldn't be deep enough for a cake.

Actually, I would probably also reduce the recipe. I think I would probably do about half the recipe. There's quite a difference in volume between 7 inch and 9 inch tins.

used the 7 inch it was ok just cooked it for a bit longer. just realised i've accidentaly put in 150g too much of choc though so its going to be extremely rich!
