Best blender for sauces and pastes?

I am making my own curry pastes and I’d like a little blender to make it easier. Any recommendations?

I've had a little electric one for years.

I'm sure I wouldn't have paid anything like that amount and had it so long I can't remember where I got it from.
But anything along those lines would be perfect.
