KitchenAid or Kenwood or ...?

So am going to go for a stand mixer! Even if it takes up worktop space - the handheld one is doing my shoulder in!
So I love Kitchen aid and I think along with Kenwoods K mixer they are high up on Which reports. I grew up with my Mum's Kenwood mixer and it was great, but apparently these days the K beater feels more flimsy? I know the Kitchen aid are pricey but DH thinks he can get one online discounted. Any thoughts appreciated - thank you!

The only reason I chose Kitchenaid over KMix was the look of it tbh. Let's be honest, they all do the same thing. I did have a cheap version (about £100) and it did a good job, but you can feel the quality of the Kitchenaid. It's very very solid and heavy by comparison.

The attachments are pricey, but it comes with balloon whisk, dough hook, beater and bowl, so unless you are going to use it everyday, for anything and everything, I don't think you need anything else.

I got mine at House of Frazer. £100 off, so £299. I checked and checked the description of it and others and I couldn't find any reason for it to be so cheap. When I went to collect, the manager told me it was purely because the box colour, didn't match the content and the colour had been discontinued! I was very lucky!

Consider Andree James, honestly. No I don't work for them but I do love their products.

QVC regularly do special offers on Kitchenaid
Have a look there
John Lewis also do reductions and have a good range of colours

I know I think it's the lovely colours I love - which one??!!

House of Frazer have got 3 Kitchenaid models at £349, but only a couple left. Colours are Onxy, silver and almond. They go very fast at that price!

Ebay have a kitchenaid page selling reconditioned models with a warranty direct from the manufacturer , the stock changes regularly.

I have a kenwood which I adore. It was bought second hand but unused at least 10 years ago and it was the best thing I think I've bought. The blender attachment is ace and I can't fault it for all my baking needs. My mum had a kenwood too, and she threw it out!

When I bought mine 3 years ago I opted for a kenwood over the KtchenAid because I felt I was getting more for my money. The KtchenAid was just a mixer but there Kenwood had loads of other things I could attach to it. I have a food processor, blender and spice grinder for it too.
It depends what you want to do with it I guess. Can not deny the KitshenAid was prettier but the Kenwood was more useful long term. And I do use it a lot.

I bought a kitchenaid mixer last month from Steamer Trading, they had 35% discount on the bright red with the glass bowl, which was what I was wanting, later in the day I got another email from Steamer, apologising the website had been down and offering a further 10% discount for orders before midnight, at 45% off, it just had to be done

I have a cream kmix. Looks very attractive, works like a dream. I bake a lot but it's definitely a luxury - I'm sure other models would work well too.

Hallamoo · 04/04/2018 19:42

Kmix flimsy?? You must be joking. I almost give myself a hernia trying to move mine!

I love my kmix, I would've preferred a kitchen aid at the time, but couldn't justify the price.

Now, I much prefer the kmix and think the kitchen aid is more flimsy.
