Tamarind - any recipes to recommend?

I bought some - and now I'm staring at it - what can I do with it?

jsut boil it in water for 5 mintutes to make tamarind sauce and then you can use it to marinate pork or lamb together with garlic, salt and chillies.
Vile stuff if you ask me though!

I keep meaning to try it - looks as though it was a very popular recipe!

Kelly, iirc, our local Chinese/Malaysian place does fish with tamarind sauce.

I stick it in any curry but not too much otherwise it tastes sour.

Nice with toasted sesame seeds.

Very very yummy fish curry recipe in Nigella's Forever Summer uses tamarind. It's on of our favourites.
