Anyone tried making lace icing?

I've just bought a pack from Morrisons for about £4 I think. It's got a mould with it and a pot of gold lace icing. Took all of 5 minutes to get it in the mould and in the oven to dry out.

10 mins and it'll be done!

Will it work though. It always looks so easy on YouTube! If it works, everyone will get cakes with lace on it for at least the next year!

Pictures please!! I decorate birthday cakes for kids in a VERY amateur (but keen to learn) way if there's an easy technique to make the cake look good I'd love to try it!
