What to cook with aubergine parmigiana?

I'm going to cook aubergine parmigiana and creamed spinach for family this weekend. I would have these as sides. What would go well with these two? Chicken? Lamb? I don't really want anything dry - perhaps a sauce to go with it. Any ideas?

I always thought it was a dish in itself but a roast chicken could go well. The creamed spinach and parmigiana are quite wet already so wouldn't add further sauce

I had it at a restaurant as sides with steak but wanting something different. I do have it as a meal in itself but thinking just side this time .

I'd do it as the main with garlic bread and a fresh green salad.

That’s definitely a main for me (I’m veggie). I’d eat it with garlic bread. Everything is better with garlic bread.

DEF do it as a main. Delicious

You could team it with some antipasti- Parma ham, salami, bresaola, olives etc. Delicious!

Thanks. I'll see if anyone has any thoughts on another dish. Does anyone have a great recipe? I've used a Guardian recipe before.
I made it once before but wanting to maybe bread crumb the aubergine slices this time rather than just on top.

I’ve used Mary Berry’s recipe which has a layer of lasagne sheets in it too which makes it more substantial.

I make Anna del Conte's recipe, but I usually leave out the egg. It's divine.

weve had it great with a roast leg of lamb
and also with chicken thighs cooked in some onions and garlic.and stock.
also had it with a crumbed salmon fillets.
had it wit breast stuff with mozerlla wrapped in parma ham
and with mince with similar flavours and some spices.

I would only ever do it as a main or starter, with either green salad or broccoli as accompaniments.

Leg of lamb steaks would be tasty with it.
