If you were invited for a meal at friends and they served pate foie gras would you

a) eat it
b) politely decline

?

goose or duck liver pate. Duck in this case.

Bird is force fed during last couple of weeks of life to fatten liver to a dangerous extent (but then bird is going to choke).

The force feeding is the controversial bit.

I think that's right.

Depends if it is mi-cuit or entier, but love both with fig confiture or sancerre jelly and a lovely glass of montbazillac.

Would prefer to scoff the lot with DH, but DD and DS have got addicted to it also.
