Chicken potatoes salad

If yiu were doing this meal exactly how would you do it. Obv the salad will be cold so no sauces etc.
Bear with me, I'm vegetarian and not a good cook.

Rost chicken, Greek style roast potatoes, salad, maybe a yoghurt/herb or Caesar dressing on th side?

Roast chicken!

Chop chicken breast into chunks, thread on skewers and sprinkle with paprika.
Cook under grill. Serve with salad and wedges.

Rost chicken, maybe rub with spices first. Potatoes could be wedges or baked or boiled little new ones. Big fresh garden style salad, maybe homemade coleslaw too. Lots of mayo, hoummous, butter for the potatoes. It's a simple meal we eat quite frequently.

Chicken schnitzel with German style potato salad

Which herbs?
They will be chicken breast, I need easy!

Schnitzel would be to bash out the chicken breasts so thin (they end up huge so can be cut in half for portions) then coat in flour, eggs, breadcrumbs and then pan fry or bake
Am not sure exactly how DH makes German style potato salad but this recipe is good starting point

I would get a romaine lettuce ...all shredded up
nice caesar style dressing
good croutons....make your own and make them salty
parmesan shavings
The tesco readybagged caesar salad is really good if you want to go super easy

Chicken...I'd bash out some chicken breasts to a nice even thickness and griddle them....squizz some lemon juice over it as it finishes on the griddle and then sort of shred it/chunk it into pieces

Potato salad...boil some charlotte potatoes in their skins
Make your mayo with a splash of the caesar dressing and lemon juice in, or tart up shop mayo. Add in a generous dollop of soured cream too.
Drain the potatoes when they are done but leave them in the hot pan, shake them about and leave to sit for a bit....the steam will lift the skins and you can just peel them off while they are still quite hot, and then just cut them in half and into the mayo, stir about and leave to cool. Best not to refrigerate it either so do it not long before serving, it wants to be room temp.

Then just layer the chicken, croutons, salad, shavings and let people do their own potato salad

We really like beetroot here, and dh likes tomatoes so we have those to add in too.
Any fancy salady bits are great to go with.

You lot are far too posh for me. Thank you all. I suppose what i mean was meat eaters seem to have sauce or gravy with most meals, in tbe chicken, potato and salad combo what is the sauce

How many people are you going to feed Stealth?

If it's just two or three why not get something ready prepared? Chicken breasts in a mushroom sauce or a creamy sauce, and just pop them in the oven.

You wouldn't have any bones to deal with at the end either.

If you don't like the idea of salad and sauce together, serve the salad on a separate side plate for each person.

poach the chicken breast hun in stock to keep them moist.10 mins approx. on a simmer.
or coat in cornflour before pan frying.
slice on a diagonal for that cheffie touch.
croutons make a great touch.

Thank you, that's good to know as that's what we had. Chicken in an oil/garlic/basil thing, new potatoes and loads of salads. Most stuff shop bought, you are all putting me to shame. But I am studying and need all the spare time I can get

What salad are you making?

Sorry it was last night. Salad was brought by pils. The chicken thing is something I do all the time. Thread was really just asking, for a fairly plain chicken, potato and salad combo, what is the 'sauce'. Some th ing I always struggle with.
I don't think I'm explaining myself well at the moment. I have no desire to be a better cook tbh :o

Fil made a green salad, mil made a bean salad and I bought one of those pasta and spinach ones from Sainsbury's

Pesto is a good sauce for chicken. Or maybe a cherry tomato and basil sauce. Guacamole or salsa Chimichurri. Lemon/tarragon/chilli butter.
