FIL is 50 soon and I've offered to make dinner for everyone to celebrate. He absolutely loves really really really spicy food. I however can't eat at Indian restaurants as I am so adverse to spicy food. My DH, MIL, and SIL are also not the biggest fans of spicy food. I'd like to make something that I can make a spicy version for FIL and a milder version for everyone else. Other than 2 different curries can anyone suggest something?

Chilli perhaps? Make 2 batches - one very hot and one mild. Or rather one batch then separate it into 2 pans and lob a load of chilli powder into one! Maybe get lots of hot sauces too (like the hit Tabasco, chilli, dried chillis etc).

Mexican! Make chili, guacamole, tacos, refried beans etc, all mild then make a REALLY hot salsa which he can add to his, ammd a mild salsa for the rest of you. Was great for my DCs when they were little, we could all have the same food but I could spice ours up.

Just add extra chilli flakes to his. Or make a chilli raita for him to have as an accompaniment.

2 thin green chillies
Handful of coriander
Half a tomato
1clove garlic
Dash of laminated juice
Salt

Mix it all up in a food processor and mix it with yogurt.

You can add more chilli if you want.

Try lemon juice instead of laminated! Grin
